Gamecube :

Nintendo's GameCube console was released in Japan on September the 14th 2001 (also a limited edition Panasonic version was released in December that year) In the States it was

released November 18th with the Pal version

soon after.

After taking the E3 show in the states 2002 by storm many feel this is the machine to own as

Nintendo rarely disappoint.

Nintendo even with the massive competition

from Sony with the Sony 2 and Microsoft with their X Box console which was released in the

same week in the states had a really fantastic

Christmas period in the states with the machine

selling better then Nintendo could ever have

imagined, also the European launch had been a great success and now the machine has been

dropped to only £79.99 in the UK (Nov 2003).

Luigi's Mansion, the fasted selling launch game in the states ever in 2002

The GameCube has 4 joyports, 2 memory card slots, 2 high speed serial ports and a parallel port . As well as analogue outputs it has full digital outputs (inc. component out for high definition TVs)

The games come on GC discs, a small DVD disc measuring just 8cm that holds 1.5 GB of data.

The machine is very small in size, liking in width to NEC's Japanese Pc Engine machine, in fact the size is the first thing that has amazed most people when first viewed, as you can see its considerably smaller than even The Nintendo 64.

The GameCube controller has two analog control sticks, left and right analogue trigger buttons and a built in rumble motor. Also the RF wireless controller called the Wavebird has now been released.

The GameCube has its own memory card (Digicard) that holds four megabits of flash memory (twice the size of the N64 pak). A large size memory card (251 card) has also just been released.

The GameCube also has a modem and a

Broadband adapter both available separately.

The Gameboy Advance can be used as a controller for the GameCube. Like Sega's VMU's, the Gameboy Advance can be used as a mini game centre for GameCube which will be exceptionally good for many games that support this function. Also games such as Sonic which is released on the GameCube and The Gameboy Advance can link from GameCube to Gameboy Advance for added fun.

This Limited Edition Japanese only Panasonic GameCube incorporates a Dvd Player

This is the GameCube GameBoy Player which actually plugs onto the bottom of the GameCube machine and enables players to play GameBoy games on the GameCube

through a TV screen !
